The Gatlinburg Farmers Market is currently looking for
a new volunteer market manager and volunteers!
The market manager provides roughly 10-12 hours per week running the market.
This includes Saturday mornings 7 am till 1pm plus additional time each week communicating with the assistant manager, vendors, partners, volunteers, and city/state organizations. For the remainder of the 2024 season (ends Oct. 19th) there is a chance for a $25/week stipend. There are plans and possibilities for funding in 2025 with a proactive market manager. We also are looking for a few able bodied volunteers
to help with market setup and take-down.
This includes setting up tables, putting up signs, and assisting with canopies.
Volunteers are needed for setup 7am to 8:30 am, for take-down 11:30 to 1, during the market hours to help run the 'home' table, and outside Saturday Market hours to help with promotions.

from the Gatlinburg Food City.
Between the Post Office &
the American Legion building.
2024 Dates are
Saturdays May 18 until Oct.19.
The market starts at 8:30 &
vendors are set up by 8 AM.
No moving vehicles are allowed in
the roped off area after 8:30 or
before 12 noon for safety.
We are rain or shine unless the
National Weather Service issues
a warning during the market time.
There are bathrooms available in
the American Legion.
The market is in its 15th year in Gatlinburg
The market is a Non-Profit, part of the Gatlinburg Gateway Foundation
The market itself sells shopping bags, mugs, & other items for support!
The retiring manager is Glo Turner.
The market is run by a number of dedicated volunteers.
Debra McDermitt is the assistant market manager and online media manager.
We are accepting new Vendors in 2024, especially veggie & fruit!
We are looking for Sponsors for the Market & Our 2025 Education Programs.

ALL STATE & LOCAL LAWS & HAVE NECESSARY LICENSES

Vendors Must be Local to Sevier, Knox, Blount, & Cocke Counties!
All items must be grown, made, created by Vendor!
Handle money and edibles separately (May use sanitizer).
Handle un-washable edibles with gloves.
All eggs must be washed, sanitized, air dried and placed in new containers, kept below 40 degrees
All prepared food must be shelf stable.
No dairy in frosting. No garlic in olive oil. Use safe canning methods.
All potted plants and meat need a state license.
All canopies must have weights.
Must be at the market & set-up by 8 am.
We are an all-cash market unless you have your own personal
payment system that you use at your own risk (Wi-Fi is spotty).
Basics of The Gatlinburg Farmers Market 2024 Education Programs
Goal: Weekly Guest Educational Vendor
We are welcoming one educational vendor each week. This vendor will be providing knowledge, skills, & tools that can help people learn more about gardening, farming, cooking, crafting, and related activities. Educational Vendors must still meet the requirements of our regular Vendors (some requirements listed above). Weekly Scavenger Bingo
Visit the market each week of the 2024 season to participate in a weekly scavenger bingo. Complete the bingo card and you get a small reward (examples include crayons, stickers, or mini-garden figurines). We are looking for local businesses that would like to help with rewards for the weekly bingo! Get in touch by sending an e-mail to thegatlinburgfarmersmarket@gmail.com
